Instagram for InstaTravelers

Do you have a smart phone? An iPhone or an Android? No matter which gadget you’re on, you can join in on the fun of the hottest photo sharing app in the market!

Instagram just released their (previously exclusive for iPhone) app for the Android phone just a few days before they were bought out by Facebook. This app is just getting bigger and bigger and more people are signing up and taking more shots… But what does this have to do with travel, you might ask…

Well, think of this scenario… You’re out with friends in your hometown and you see a beautiful sunset. You didn’t bring along your digital camera, but you have your iPhone. You take it out of your pocket, snap a shot of the sun setting behind the mountain in the distance, add a cool effect, and within seconds… millions of people can enjoy your photo and see where it was taken!

It’s an instant photo sharing app that will allow you to see the amazing things your friends are doing from all over the world. You not only indulge in unique photo ideas, but also travel inspiration!

  1. Unfortunately I have neither an I phone or an android phone! But this seems like a fun application and this is a nice post for those who own either of two.

    • Thank you! If you ever do splurge on a smart phone, it’s definitely one app we recommend.

Having some difficulty in getting my comment through. Its not showing?

    • We can see your comments… hopefully they’re showing now for you also?

  3. We used to use Hipstamatic all of the time but we much prefer the social side of instagram. I think the photos can sometimes look better than that taken on an ordinary digital camera plus you are right to suggest that you should never miss a shot!

    • Haven’t heard of Hipstamatic. I agree, the settings can look really cool and they’re not effects you can get on any old digital camera!

  4. Unfortunately haven’t an I-phone yet..though it might be useful (i know). Anyway this Instagram is wonderful..

  5. I have been on Instagram for awhile now. I love the site! Some of the travel photos on there are incredible. My handle is elleswim

  6. I love Instagram and I am happy that they allow Android users to access it now. I don’t know what all the fuss is about from iPhone owners. Thank you for following me and also pimping me here :-)

    • I’m not sure what the fuss is either. I’m glad they expanded outside of just Apple products. And you’re welcome!

  7. That’s why I’m planning to have an iPhone soon because of this incredible news. Honesty, I envy those who can capture these amazing shots because of their iPhones. These photos give me more drives to have my own iPhone too especially I love capturing moments worth keeping for.

    • It’s definitely nice to have something so simple to take photos with, like the iPhone or Android. Instagram just makes sharing photos so much simpler! :)

  8. I’ve begun tinkering with Instagram on our iPad. Maybe it’s the iPad. Maybe it’s my need for clarity. The photos never come out clear. I’ve cleaned the tiny lens until it sparkles like a 6k diamond. I need to wait for technology to catch up with my wants.

    • That’s too bad. Maybe it is just that, I haven’t tried Instagram on the iPad yet. Hopefully technology will improve, along with the cameras in the iPads!
