Hawaii is one of the most colorful states I’ve been to, but sometimes being colorful is what makes the most interesting black and white photographs. Here are a few of my favorites…
I agree! I’ve shot some pretty colourful places in black and white. I really like the shot of the man sunbathing. That’s classic! Audrey | That Backpacker’s most recent post: Climbing Namsan And Dressing The Part
Absolutely beautiful! You really don’t see Hawaii photos in black and white- or any other islands for that matter. Shooting in b&w really allows you to show details in the contrast and you did that very well with these photos. Fidel’s most recent post: Where To Stay In Siem Reap (Angkor)
All of them are very cool. I think black and white photography really brings some kind of extra emotion to photography. I don’t know how to explain it, B&W photos sometimes just feel more powerful in some way.
Beautiful shots in black and white! Loved them all, Hawaii seems as gorgeous in monochrome as it does in color!! Arti’s most recent post: Yamuna River: Ghats of Mathura – Vishram Ghat
Great Photos in a great place. I just love beaches! This photos shows how wonderful the subject even though it is black and white. Thanks a lot for sharing. Hope to see more of this.!
I love-love-love color, yet I might try your idea, it looks like a fun experiment. Ayelet – All Colores’s most recent post: I Want to ‘Go With Oh’ to Paris

Thanks Audrey! He was a funny-looking guy so I thought I’d include him in the shot :)

Thanks Jared! I agree there’s something special about a black and white picture. It takes away some of the distraction that color can have.
