Operation JB

Second semester has just begun and this is the first long weekend, so of course my first and natural instinct pointed towards visiting my bestie, Laura. I planned on driving down Friday after class and  I was packing in the morning when I received this text from Laura:

Oh my gosh I totally forgot we have to go to this seminar tonight downtown for my class, would u be okay with going?

Photo of the Month: October

We were in Chattanooga, Tennessee together this month and explored the town a little bit. We drove through a very run-down part of town, but found this pot of gold; a half-burnt-down building had been turned into a beautiful graffiti masterpiece. Along with it were props just waiting for us to take some photos with them… A bucket full of paintbrushes! How perfect.

Have you ever discovered something awesome like this when you least expected it?

Where have you seen the coolest graffiti?

P.S. Happy Halloween!

The Best Meal in Nashville!

The Best Meal in Nashville!

Last night I (Laura) went out to dinner with some friends at Bella Napoli in Edgehill Village, right near music row. It is a traditional Italian restaurant and the chef, Paolo, is from Naples, Italy. They use a brick oven straight from Italy to make the most authentic pizzas. I ate pizza every day for a straight week when I was in Italy with Claire and I can honestly say that the pizza I had at Bella Napoli tonight was just as incredible! We sat outside under strings of lights and listened to a band play. I got the Margarita Pizza and I cannot wait to go back and try some other items from the menu! Also, the ingredients are fresh and healthy…read about them here…Nashville Pizzeria | Bella Napoli

After dinner we went to  Jeni’s Ice Cream in east Nashville. They “build every recipe from the ground up with luscious, Snowville milk and cream from cows that eat grass.” They have the most interesting flavors like “goat cheese with red cherries,” “parmesan and zucchini bread,” and “wild berry lavender.” I went with “salted caramel,” “dark chocolate,” and  ”brown butter almond brittle” (three scoops for five dollars). It was literally the best ice cream that I have ever tasted…AND I just found out from the website that they will deliver to your home! Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams

Nashville Farmers Market

Nashville Farmers Market

Today we ventured to the Farmers Market in Nashville, Tennessee! It was filled with delicious fruits, vegetables, and all sorts of homemade food. We loved trying all of the samples and talking to the different vendors.

Wildtree, pictured above, had some delicious dips and oils. One was a garlic and herb mixed with cream cheese and another was a scampi blend with grape seed oil. Laura bought a kit with the herb and garlic blend, scampi blend, and the roasted garlic grape seed oil. The owners were so nice! The products they had are all healthy,  natural, and delicious! If you want, you can check their website out: Wildtree

Another vendor we met was the owner of Nashville Jerk. He had some delicious salsas and dips! He has also won a lot of awards!

We had a great time meeting and talking to all the wonderful vendors at the Farmers Market. We were so happy with our purchases… A pecan pie and the herb kit!

Here are some more photos from the farmers market…
